Shamator Town Road and Toshi Wungtung Memorial Clock Tower inaugurated

The Shamator Town Road improvement project and the Toshi Wungtung Memorial Clock Tower was inaugurated by Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports and Chairman DPDB, S Keoshu Yimchunger on  April 7 at Shamator.

Speaking at the event, Yimchunger stated that the blacktopping of the road was undertaken to benefit the citizens, he also thanked the Shamator Town Public Forum, District administration, general public and well-wishers for their contribution towards the project.

He noted that the Clock Tower Project, initiated by Toshi Wungtong, a visionary and extraordinary leader, has been named after him as a tribute to his legacy to inspire future leaders. He also outlined plans to continue work on remaining roads, including stretches from the Toshi Wungtung Memorial Clock Tower to Public Ground, Shotang Traffic Point to Veterinary Office, and Shotang Traffic Point to St. Xavier Road via PHED ward road.

Yansomong, VP, YTC, expressed satisfaction with the town’s development progress since the district’s formation. Neoji, Secretary, Shamator Town Public Forum, acknowledged S. Keoshu’s efforts, urging the installation of a clock in the tower to complete the project.

Podi Kapo, SDO Civil, also praised the rapid development in Shamator, attributing it to the people’s choice of a visionary leader.
