A one day open road bicycle rally billed as ‘Rally of Phek’ took place on November 4 in commemoration of 50 years of Phek district.

Shiven bagged the champion title and was awarded with Rs. 70,000, while Thotmachan and Ronald secured the 2nd and 3rd position and received Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively.

The event witnessed 43 participants. Earlier, MLA Dr. Neisatuo Mero flagged off the rally from Pfutsero and the rally culminated at Phek town.

Phek Deputy Commissioner Kuko Mero gave away prize to the winners. S. Peter Trakha, District Tourism Officer delivered a short speech while the vote of thanks was proposed by Vezuhu Keyho, president Chakhesang Public Organization.

The rally was organized by Phek District Golden Jubilee Event Committee and sponsored by Department of Tourism, Nagaland.
