The Annual Officer’s Conference of the Social Welfare Department Government of Nagaland was held at NBCC Convention Center, New Secretariat Road, Kohima on May 17, reported the DIPR. Advisor, Department of Social welfare, Wangpang Konyak graced the occasion as the Special Guest.

Speaking on the occasion the Advisor highlighted about various schemes initiated by the government of Nagaland to help the most vulnerable sections of the society. He also mentioned about how the department came into being in 1968 and so far the department has been taking up various schemes to uplift the women, children and disabled persons.

He also encourage the officers to be sincere and work diligently and to look after all the grievances face by the public. He also thanked the Chief Minister of Nagaland for giving him this opportunity and for trusting in him.

The order of the program was chaired by Tosheli Zhimomi, Director Social Welfare and invocation by Rev. Suhuto Chishi, Youth Secretary, NBCC. Short speech was delivered by Martha R. Ritse (IAS) Secretary, Department of Social Welfare and Vote of thanks by K. Wango Langsym, Deputy Director.
