Rh. Raising, Member, Collective Leadership, NSCN IM, has said that solution without Naga flag and constitution would be a repetition of the past mistakes. In a statement, he said that the Government of India recognized the sovereignty, the identity, the territory of the Nagas and the integration of all Nagas areas in the Framework Agreement and maintained that it will be a great mistake on the part of the Indian and Naga leaders who interpret the Agreement from Indian constitutional perspective. “Flag and constitution are the composite materials of sovereignty,” he added.

The NSCN IM leader also stated that the Framework Agreement acknowledges “peaceful coexistence of the two entities sharing sovereign power” and affirmed that Nagas and India would exercise joint ventures in defence and in drilling oil, however “Nagas will exercise their sovereign power in the matter of their own affairs.”

Further, Rh, Raising said that the Agreement is one of the options where India and Nagas can meet, the kind of solution the two parties have been looking for. “It will guarantee the future of the Nagas and strengthen the security of India”, he said, emphasizing the importance for the Framework Agreement to work out. “This battle will decide our future,” Raising stated.
