ST Morcha Mokokchung celebrates Tribal Pride Day

The ST Morcha of BJP Mokokchung district, today observed the Tribal Pride Day (Janiatiya Gaurav Diwas) at BJP Office Mokokchung, informed a press release by the ST Morcha of BJP Mokokchung.

The event was attended by officials from the ST Morcha and also the Bharatiya Janata Party Mokokchung District .

Speaking on the occasion, the President of the BJP ST Morcha Mokokchung, Oyimpong Longchar, while elucidating on tribal pride, stressed on the heritage of culture and tribal diversity of the country.

Longchar enunciated how the Bharatiya Janata Party of Mokokchung has brought about this cohesion in tandem with the development of the world. Oyimpong Longchar, on behalf of the ST Morcha Mokokchung, expressed thanks to the Nagaland STM President Tsachola Rothong, for their constant encouragement in its endeavour to make BJP more stronger in the district and the state. Longchar also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the President of BJP Mokokchung District, S. Bendang Aier and his colleagues for their understanding and presence thereby making the programme a grand success, informed the press release.

In 2021, the Indian government officially recognised November 15 as National Tribal Pride Day to honour the memory of Birsa Munda and the contributions of other tribal leaders to India’s history. The day serves as an occasion to celebrate the culture, traditions, and achievements of the tribal communities.

Meanwhile, the Vice President of STM Mokokchung, Tongpang welcomed the gathering while the Secretary of STM BJP Mokokchung, Moatemsu Kichu presented a biography of Late Birsa Munda on whose honor the day was being celebrated. The programme was chaired by Aosenla (Secretary of STM, BJP Mokokchung) while a special brief speech was also delivered by BJP Mokokchung District Secretary, Imtichizung during the programme.
