Standard Club Kohima Science College conducts educational exposure trip

The Standard Club of Kohima Science College organized an educational exposure trip on April 15, at Jo Beverage, Seithekema Basa. The trip was sponsored by the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), informed a press release by the college.

Thirty students, accompanied by their mentor Dr. Lilongchem Thyug, embarked on the educational trip to explore the operations of Jo Beverage, renowned for its production of Olive Spring packaged drinking water, considered to be the among the best in Nagaland.

Jo Beverage has the highest production capacity in Nagaland, with an impressive output of 120 bottles per unit. Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, the plant operates in alignment with the rigorous standards set by the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), ensuring that each product meets the highest quality benchmarks.

Julie Zhimomi, the proprietor of Jo Beverage, warmly hosted the students, guiding them through the details of the production process. From raw materials to the final packaged product, the students witnessed firsthand the meticulous steps involved in crafting Olive Spring packaged drinking water. Zhimomi’s insights enriched the students on their understanding of the production cycle and the importance of adherence to standards.

Dr. Lilongchem Thyug, the mentor from Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, expressed his gratitude the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) for facilitating such a valuable learning opportunity. He emphasized the significance of experiential learning in supplementing classroom education and nurturing future leaders in the field of science and technology.
