State government sets up Departmental Enquiry Committee to investigate JJM scam in Nagaland

The Nagaland State government has constituted a Departmental Enquiry Committee, in a notification issued by Chief Secretary J. Alam on December 19, to enquire into certain allegations as appeared in local newspapers in respect of the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the State comprising.

The committeee comprises of the following members:

  1. Zarenthung Ezung, Commissioner & Secretary, Cooperation Chairman
  2. Er Gwatilo Tep, Mission Director, SBM(G) Member
  3. Amenla Jamir, Addl. Director, Treasuries & Accounts Member
  4. Amentoli Anar, Deputy Secretary,PHE Member Secretary.

The Terms of Reference (TOR) of the Committee, according the notification, shall be as under :

  1. The Committee will ascertain the status of works implemented in the projects via-a-vis adherence to DPRs and JJM guidelines from inception to till date
  2. The Committee will crosscheck the status of reporting in the Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) with actual implementation in the villages/habitations
  3. The Committee shall examine complaints/grievances, if any, and look into whether appropriate actions have been taken to address them
  4. The Committee shall identify whether any lapses or shortcomings were there in the course of implementation of JJM from inception to till date and suggest measures for further improvement in its implementation.

The Committee shall submit Its report within 45 (forty five) days from the date of issue of notification.
