The Thang Students’ Union, Noklak condemned the ‘inhumane and merciless killing’ of 25 years old Late Supou P in Dimapur. It offered its condolences and prayers to the bereaved family and also appealed to law enforcing authorities ‘to deliver justice to the bereaved family and to execute befitting punishment to the culprit as per the relevant section of the law.’

TSU further said that ‘no individuals or organisations should at any cost provide safe haven’ to the accused, Thingiu Khiam, SS Deputy Kilonser of NSCN (Khango group).

The Phom Students’ Conference too denounced the ‘brutal murder’ and appealed law enforcing agencies to take measures to ‘tackle and control the dominance of such “Anti-Christian elements emerging in our land” which is threatening the peaceful existence of our society.’ PSU demanded befitting punishment to the culprit and justice for Late Supou P and her family.

The Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union, St. Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama has also urged concerned authorities to deliver justice to the grieving family. Condemning the ‘outrageous and barbaric act’, the union said that the ‘horrendous and inhumane act’ has ‘outraged’ the student population and that the ‘culprit does not deserve a place in the society’. The union also conveyed it’s heartfelt condolences and solidarity to the family members and friends of Late Supou P.

The Khiamniungan Students’ Union has directing closing all government and private schools in Noklak district on Wednesday, to mourn the death of Late Supou, who was in the final year of Master’s degree course with Honours in History when the tragedy befell. KSU will be organising a ‘Candlelight Service’ at Traffic Island, Noklak at 6:00 pm on Wednesday.

Late Supou P died of gunshot injuries in a hospital in Dimapur around midnight on 8 May 2023. The Police have arrested boyfriend and his bodyguard in the case. Investigation is going on.
