A Seminar and Workshop on CSS-Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFPE) Scheme was held at the DC Conference Hall in Noklak today.
The event was organised by the Sub District Industries Centre, Noklak under the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland.
SDO (Civil) Noklak C Phuniang, the Special Guest of the seminar, said the PMFME scheme is a reflection of the prime minister’s ambitious vision to make India self-reliant by way of generating employment and income. The scheme also aims to promote the formalization of the sector.
The scheme will support farmers, producer organizations, Self Help Groups, co-operatives societies, and new and existing individual entrepreneurs.
Phuniang pointed out that unless people are self-reliant, the country cannot be called self-reliant. He encouraged the gathering to get the benefits from this scheme. The success of one unit shall bear a long chain of trickle-down effect, he said.
The SDO requested all the participants to learn properly and encouraged them to become more enterprising so that it will bring about an overall development of the society. He expressed hope that the PMFME scheme will be successful in the district and urged the stakeholders to work for the successful implementation of the scheme in the district.
Nyeipa Phom, Functional Manager, SDIC, Noklak said this was the first time the scheme was being launched in Noklak comprising of five DIPR, District Resource Persons (DPRs), PMFME Noklak. He stressed that the administration plays a vital role in the scheme.
Following the Seminar and Workshop session, M Yangdikhum Sangtam, Inspector of Industries SCIC, Noklak spoke on PMFME, explaining the aims and objectives of ODOP and the role of the DRP.
Kongpe, District Resource Person, Noklak shared on modalities, portal details and how to apply for the scheme.
Thanghoi, District Resource Person, spoke on the support provided to the food processing units and the eligibility criteria.
The Noklak Branch of SBI shared on banking modalities and the processing of application while M Mongshai , the president of Taste of Noklak Society, shared her experiences on food processing and the items produced.
