Subroto Cup: Nagaland Junior Girls U-17 finishes 2nd in Pool, misses out on QF berth on goal difference

Despite of an impressive win of 5-1 against Sainik School, Sambalpur, on Thursday in the ongoing Subroto Cup 2024 Junior Girls U-17, the Nagaland team have missed out on the quarter finals berth on goal difference, DIPR has informed.

In today’s match played at BR Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi, Mhalo scored four (4) goals and Akhrienuo scored one goal. With the win, Nagaland team finished in second position of the Pool G group with 7 points which was topped by NCC Mizoram with 7 points.

Team Manager for Nagaland U-17 Girls Football team, William Koso expressed his appreciation of the team’s performance at the tournament and stated that it was a very good exposure and experience for the team.

During the tournament, the Nagaland U-17 Girls team was grouped in Pool G with NCC Mizoram, Sainik School Sambalpur and Air Force School New Delhi. During the match against Airforce (AF) School New Delhi, Nagaland won 2-0; recorded a draw 0-0 against NCC Mizoram and ended it with 5-1 win against Sainik School, Sambalpur.
