The Sunday Catechism School at Christ King Church in Kohima Village recently organized a vibrant and engaging ‘Summer Camp 2024’ under the theme ‘God’s Masterpiece’, inspired by Ephesians 2:10. The camp witnessed the participation of 75 young, enthusiastic, and energetic children.
Throughout the camp, various essential topics were covered to enrich the spiritual growth and knowledge of the young participants. The core themes included ‘God’s Masterpiece’, focusing on the inherent value and uniqueness of each individual as part of God’s divine creation. The importance of prayer and devotion was emphasized through teachings on the Rosary and the significance of regular communication with God.
Furthermore, discussions on the role of a child in the church and at home were conducted, highlighting the responsibilities and opportunities young individuals have to contribute positively to their community and families. The sacrament of the Eucharist was also explored, deepening the children’s understanding of its significance in the Catholic faith.

In addition to the theological teachings, the camp also offered counseling sessions to provide emotional and spiritual support to the participants. The children were encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings freely in a safe and nurturing environment, fostering personal growth and well-being.
Music played a significant role in enhancing the camp experience, with lively and uplifting songs adding joy and enthusiasm to the activities. Through music, the children were able to express their faith and praise to God In a creative and engaging manner.
