The Sürep Lenden Club of Impang Mepu, Chuchuyimlang village, celebrated its Golden Jubilee under the theme “Meraket Alizüng” (Dignified Goals) at Anü Mai Amphitheatre, Chuchuyimlang, on December 27, 2024. The event marked 50 years of the club’s establishment (1974-2024) and featured Talimeren, District Horticulture Officer, as the Guest of Honour, and Rev. Temsü Jamir, Pastor of Aoyimti Baptist Church, as the main speaker.
In his address, Guest of Honour, Talimeren emphasized the significance of the milestone, noting that it provided an opportunity to reflect on the club’s achievements over the past 50 years. He encouraged the club members to evaluate their progress since the 25th anniversary and set ambitious goals for their 75th Platinum Jubilee. Highlighting the need for sustainability, Talimeren challenged the members with three key resolutions for the future. First, he urged them to strive for excellence in competitive exams at both state and national levels. Secondly, he encouraged the club to focus on achieving recognition in the sports sector, aiming for success at state and national levels, and, if possible, at the international level. Lastly, he emphasized the importance of self-reliance, calling on the club to organize its Platinum Jubilee through their own efforts without depending on external donations.

Speaker Rev. Temsü Jamir, Pastor of Aoyimti Baptist Church, elaborated on the theme “Meraket Alizüng” (Dignified Goals) during his address. He urged the club members to cultivate a sense of purpose and respectability, emphasizing the importance of meaningful and honorable efforts toward achieving significant goals. He highlighted the club’s commitment to upholding its values, striving for excellence, and inspiring future generations through purposeful actions, truthfulness, humility, and noble deeds. Additionally, he underscored the importance of balancing “Hard Work versus Smart Work” to achieve their aspirations effectively.
The Jubilee Souvenir, led by Editorial Board Convenor N. Tali Jamir, was released by the Guest of Honour.
The event began with a welcome address by Temsümatsüng Jamir, President of Sürep Lenden Club. Highlights of the program included a Jubilee poem by Pursenla, greetings from Ao Sanen Pongen, Chairman of Chuchuyimlang Village Council, S. Bendang, President of LKR Mepu, and Meyimatsüng, President of CKT.
The program, chaired by Aosünep, Pastor of Alongtaki Baptist Church and Nükshimongla Jamir (Secretary), included various performances such as the Club Anthem, a reminiscent song by Lanuwa Zünga, a song by the Jubilee Choir, and a narration titled “Ni ya Bilemteter” (I Remember This) by Sentichuba Jamir. The Planning Committee’s report was presented by Convenor Watisangba, and the benediction was delivered by R. Lepden Jamir.
The second session, hosted by Lipoksünep Jamir and Opangmenla Jamir, featured a talent show, showcasing the creativity and skills of the club members.
