A Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programme was held on September 1 at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) in connection with the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Mokokchung District.
The event aimed to sensitise young voters and students about the critical importance of electoral participation. EAC Neithozo Theunuo, who is the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) for the 27 AC-Mokokchung Town assembly constituency, briefed the gathering.

In his address, Theunuo highlighted the significance of voting rights, emphasizing the democratic principle of “one person, one vote” and the fundamental right of every citizen to exercise their franchise responsibly.
Adding to the discussion, the supervisor for 27 A/C detailed the technical and administrative aspects of the Special Intensive Revision exercise. The supervisor urged all students, eligible voters, and community members to extend their full cooperation to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure an error-free and updated electoral roll for the district.
