The Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) has written to the Chief Medical Officer, Kiphire District, highlighting the urgent need for an additional Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) at the Health & Wellness Centre, Seyochung Village, under the National Health Mission (NHM).
“Seyochung Village has the highest population among all villages under Seyochung ADC HQ, and the existing healthcare services at the Health & Wellness Centre are inadequate to meet the growing healthcare demands. Additionally, the village is located at a significant distance from both Seyochung ADC HQ and Kiphire HQ, making access to timely medical intervention. Challenging for the residents,” stated the Union in its request.

It also informed that the Health & Wellness Centre at Seyochung Village caters to several catchment areas, covering multiple villages that rely on its services. The shortage of medical personnel, particularly ANMs, affects maternal and child healthcare, immunization programs, and other essential medical services in the region.
In this regard, the SVSU requested the CMO to consider the appointment of an additional ANM at the earliest to strengthen the healthcare delivery system in our village. “We believe this will greatly enhance primary healthcare access and improve overall community well-being. We hope for your positive response and necessary action at the earliest,” added the Union.
