Har Ghar Swachhata Dialogue & Awareness Day was conducted at Longkhim, Tuensang. It was sponsored by PHED, Kohima and organised by WSSO, PHED Tuensang Division on August 13 at GHSS, Auditorium, Longkhim.
The special invitee EAC, Longkhim, S Chingmei, while delivering her key note address, stated that Har Ghar Swachhata programme began on August 8 and will culminate on August 15 during the celebration of 79th years of India Independence Day.
While emphasising about Har Ghar swachhata awareness programme, she said that it is being launched to create awareness through programmes like sanitation drive, public awareness and tri-colour pledges across the nation, and to uphold the feeling of patriotism among the Indian citizens by hoisting of national flag. It aims to promote the importance of hygiene, sanitation, water conservation and cleanliness across the country striving towards greater greener and cleaner.

She said that to keep the nation clean and progressive, it was the responsible of every citizen to maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and urged to all present to clean their street, market place, institution, environment and house for a healthy nation and for healthy living.
The resource person, District Coordinator & IEC Consultant, PHED, Tuensang Division, Fairyson Sangtam spoke on toilet maintenance while resource person, Sanitation & Hygiene Consultant PHED, Tuensang Division, T Tsikingmong spoke on demonstration of waste management techniques (segregation composting).
Earlier, participants took the Har Ghar Tiranga Har Ghar Swachhata pledge in the programme.
The welcome address was delivered by Vice Principal GHSS, Longkhim, Sendongmenla Sangtam and invocation was pronounced by Graduate Teacher, Yangtsaliba Sangtam. The programme was attended by students and faculties.
