Zunheboto: Minister Aye urged the people not to command the leaders but to address them politely and as a result, the legislators will give their best to sort it out

Minister for PHED & Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi informed on Friday that Central Government in Delhi is working on increasing air connectivity in the region and that he had already spoken to the BJP government to set an air strip for mini airplanes in Zunheboto District.

The Minister said this at the felicitation programme organised by Sumi Hoho for the Sumi legislators elected to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly at Zunheboto Multipurpose Hall.

A statement for Sumi Hoho said Zhimomi, in his address, lauded the seven legislatures from the district for their efforts given and having improved the National Highway and said that if all the legislatures are united then they can continue to work for the betterment of the headquarter.

Zhimomi was also said to have stated that the Government of India is working on tourism sector and ‘if lands are donated then the provisions for three star hotel is ready’, besides the ‘beautification’ of Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto.

According to DIPR, the minister urged the Sumi people to uplift the legacy of faithfulness and loyalty of their forefathers and to maintain the spirit of brotherhood in our every walk of life. He also requested the Sumis to be responsible citizens during any developmental activities by not giving any hindrances and support the government to complete the works sooner.

Minister for Road and Bridges, G. Kaito Aye, in his speech, called upon the Sumi to do away with destructive criticism but to help them work for the people, Sumi Hoho informed. He urged the people not to command the leaders but to address them politely and as a result, the legislators will give their best to sort things out. He informed that there is a system for everything, and certain procedures should be followed and that just because one is a legislature, he cannot dictate the department.

According to DIPR, the Minister further said that the present MLAs are young and dynamic and have all practical experiences for bringing about all-round development and so urged the Sumis to have patience. He advised the students to not only depend on political leaders for their future but rather focus on quality education and prepare themselves for competitive exams.

Nikheto Zhimomi, President, Sümi Hoho congratulated all the legislators and encouraged them to be united at all times. In his address, he appealed for the establishment of a centre that will offer Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course to aspiring teachers in the district and also to upgrade Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Zunheboto.

Kashito Yepthomi, President, Sumi Kukami Hoho, while delivering the greetings urged the Sumis to do away with nepotism and favouritism and urged them to stand for one another when in need and speak to leaders to help the person in need. He said that the Sumi legislators were the Armours of the Sumi tribe and urged them to work for the growth of the community.
