The School of Engineering & Technology (SET), Nagaland University, successfully concluded its three-day national-level technical festival “TechAura-2025”, held from November 5 to 7 at Kohima Campus, Meriema. The event was organized under the theme “Where Insights Ignite Innovation.”
The festival was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, who highlighted the importance of technological advancement in the Indian Knowledge System and urged students to take the lead in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. In his address, he emphasized that the future of India’s progress rests in the hands of young technocrats capable of combining innovation with social responsibility.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof. N. Venuh, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Kohima Campus; Rupin Sharma, IPS, Director General of Police, Nagaland; and Prof. Sujata Dash, Dean, School of Engineering & Technology. In his keynote address, Rupin Sharma spoke on cybercrime and cybersecurity, urging students to understand the digital threats of the modern world and to take proactive initiatives in ensuring technological safety and awareness.
Prof. Sujata Dash, in her welcome address, extended warm greetings to all dignitaries, guests, participants, and the organizing team, emphasizing the importance of such events in fostering innovation and collaboration among students. Prof. Pranav Kumar Prabhakar, Faculty Convenor of TechAura-2025, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guests, participants, faculty members, student coordinators, and volunteers for their dedication and teamwork, which ensured the successful organization of the festival.

Over the course of three days, TechAura-2025 witnessed active participation from students and colleges across Nagaland, Dimapur, and Kohima, with more than 20 events showcasing creativity, intellect, and technical prowess. The events included model presentations, robotics competitions, truss bridge design, techno art, mind drill, photography and selfie contests, spelling bee, “Voice of TechAura,” dance performances, gaming tournaments, otaku quiz, and the popular “Battle of Bands.”
Each event reflected the enthusiasm and innovative spirit of the students, turning the campus into a hub of energy and creativity. TechAura, which began in 2010, has now evolved into one of the most anticipated annual national-level technical festivals in the region. The event has consistently served as a platform for young minds across India to exchange ideas, explore emerging technologies, and celebrate innovation.
The valedictory ceremony was held on November 7 where L. Lanuwabang, Director & Scientist ‘F’, NIELIT Kohima, and Abhishek Mishra, Additional Director & Officer-in-Charge, STPI Kohima graced the occasion. In their addresses, both guests motivated students to pursue excellence in technology, digital innovation, and entrepreneurship, emphasizing the need for continuous learning and adaptation to the fast-changing technological landscape.
The organizers extended sincere thanks to the University administration, faculty members, technical staff, and student organizing committee for their support and contribution. Their collective efforts ensured the seamless execution of the event. TechAura-2025 once again reaffirmed the School of Engineering & Technology, Nagaland University’s commitment to nurturing innovation, creativity, and technical competence among students, paving the way for a technologically empowered future.
