On the ninth day of the ongoing MDFA 2023 Tournament at Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung, Telongjem FC secured a spot in the quarterfinals by defeating NU Lumami with an impressive 7-0 victory in the first match of the day though NU Lumami still entered the Quarter Finals.

Shuruosul Zhotsu (Jersey No. 11) of Telongjem FC scored the first goal at the 43^rd minute, just 2 minutes before halftime. After halftime, Seiminthang Haokip (Jersey No. 16) delivered an impressive three goals in the 58^th minute, 88^th, and 90^th minute, while Kevisanyu Peseyie (Jersey No. 12) and H. Robinson Khongsai added one goal each in the 71^st and 90+2 minutes, confirming their spot in the quarterfinals from Pool B.

In the second match of the day, Konyak Student Union Mokokchung clinched their third victory in the tournament by thrashing Zonipang SA with a final score of 9-0. David (Jersey No. 8) of KSUM was the star of the match, scoring five goals and opening the first goal in the 31^st minute, followed by four goals in the 39^th, 65^th, 88^th, and 89^th minutes. Phillimon (Jersey No. 10) scored a goal in the 34^th minute, just three minutes after scoring the first goal from David, while Angki (Jersey No. 6), Lempha (Jersey No. 15), and Shaomoi (Jersey No. 18) of KSUM found the net with a goal each in the 47^th, 66^th, and 75^th minutes, respectively.

The last league match of the tournament will be played between Araka United FC and 16 United Brothers tomorrow.

Moanungsang MSC and Brotherhood from Pool A, Telongjem FC and NU Lumami from Pool B, Konyak Students Union Mokokchung (KSUM) and Soyim Sports Society (SSS) from Pool C, while KSR team and Super Seniors from Pool D secured their spots in the Quarterfinals, which will commence from October 28.
