The inaugural programme of a ten-day Hindi Certificate Course was held today at the Kohima Campus of Nagaland University. The course is being organised by the Department of Hindi, NU, Kohima Campus, in collaboration with the Central Institute of Hindi, Agra.
The University informed that the even was distinguished by the presence of Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, Vice Chancellor of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), who was the Special Guest. Prof. Shukla highlighted the significance of the Hindi language in Northeast India during his address.
Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered an insightful speech on the importance of Hindi language.
As a special invitee, Prof. Sunil Baburao Kulkarni, Director of the Central Institute of Hindi, Agra, provided an overview of the ten-day course, detailing its objectives and structure. The program also received warm greetings from Prof. G. T. Thong, Pro Vice Chancellor of Kohima Campus, who commended the Department of Hindi for their efforts.
The event was convened and chaired by Dr. Brijesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, Nagaland University. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Jano S. Liegise, Dean of the School of Humanities and Education, while Dr. Thunbui, Assistant Professor, shared the program details. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Anuj Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, Nagaland University.
Over 100 participants are expected to attend this certificate course over the next ten days, underscoring the growing interest in Hindi language studies in the region.
