The inauguration program of Tening Town Hall and Tening Sub-divisional Horticulture office was held at Tening Town on 5th August 2022 with Advisor for Horticulture & Border affairs, Mhathung Yanthan as the special guest and Advisor for water Resource, Namri Nchang as the special host.
The sub- divisional Horticulture Office was inaugurated by Advisor Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung while the Town Hall was inaugurated by Advisor Water Resource, Namri Nchang.
Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan while speaking in the inaugural program he mentioned that Tening area people are fortunate to have achieved the establishment of Sub-divisional Horticulture office in Tening. The Advisor also spoke on the importance of Climate change, progressive people, system of farming and adaptation. Mhathung also lauded the Advisor for Water Resource, Namri Nchang by saying that it is through his initiative and relentless efforts the area people are witnessing many developmental works. The Advisor also urged the gathering to make use of the facilities provided by the Government and said that the Government of the day is focusing mainly on agricultural sectors to uplift the society led by the dynamic leader and CM of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio.
He also added, that Peren district is a potential area where many Nagas use to receive many vegetables and etc therefore he encouraged the gathering to work harder even in the coming days. Having seen the big events and achievements the Advisor congratulated Tening area people.
Advisor for Water Resource, Namri Nchang who also spoke at the program as the Special host lauded the Horticulture Advisor, Mhathung, the Director and the department for hearing the plea of the people by establishing the Sub-divisional Horticulture office. Namri also advised the people present in the program to focus more in the fields of farming so as to not waste the fertile area. Meanwhile the Advisor also acknowledged the Administration & SDO, PHED for the completion of Town Hall. He informed the gathering that the newly inaugurated Town Hall will be manage and look after by the Administration for the area people.
Other who spoke in the program included Director of Horticulture, Dr. R. Elithung Lotha and Commissioner Secretary, Horticulture & Women Resource Development, Anenla T Sato, IAS.
The inauguration program was chaired by EAC Tening, Imliwabang Aier while ADC Tening, Tokai V. Sumi delivered the welcome address. Tening Town women welfare organisation performed the cultural dance and Voice of the Hill band presented a special number. The program ended with a vote thanks proposed by Ex. Vice Chairman, Adhoc Town Committee, Mr Lungchui.
