Thsankiu of Yimkhiung tribe and Tensunaro of Phom tribe win Hornbill 2024 Traditional Stilt Bamboo Race

Kisama: Alex and Charlotte, both from USA, win in tourist categories

The Traditional Stilt Bamboo Race competition organised by the department of Youth Resources and Sports was held at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on 3rd December 2024.

Apart 18 male and 14 female tribe competitors, 5 male and 4 female tourists participated in the most popular and excited event. In the man’s category, R. Thsankiu of Yimkhiung tribe emerged as the winner, while Heroto of Sümi tribe and M. Tsinthong of Tikhir tribe secured 1st and 2nd respectively.

In the women’s category, M. Tensunaro of Phom tribe became the winner and Mughavili of Sümi tribe and T. Repaishe of Tikhir tribe secured 1st and 2nd runner up.

In the tourist’s category (men), Alex from USA emerged as winner, while Rahul from Bihar and Aadesh Rai from Nepal won 1st and 2nd position.

In the tourist (female) category, Charlotte from USA emerged as a winner and Ronja from Sweden secured 1st runner up, while Sunita from Andhra Pradesh and Shweta from Gurgaon, Haryana secured 2nd runner up position.
