A one-day Tourism Awareness Training was conducted by Nagaland Tourism department in collaboration with Nagaland Tourism Association at Zunheboto Deputy Commissioner’s Conference hall on August 23, 2024.
Representatives from Tizu Valley Biodiversity Conservation and Livelihood Network (TVBCLN) Zunheboto, SBAK Nito Mount, Ghosu Bird Sanctuary, Yemishe Village, Asukho Village and others attended the Training.

The training was initiated to change the approach of the local communities to Tourism and hospitality sector thereby creating more job opportunities for the rural areas. The objective was to find more tourist centric destination in all parts of the state and also to create opportunities for both skilled and unskilled in the field of hospitality.
Resource person Nyurhetho, Assistant Director, Nagaland Tourism, provided the insights of tourism prospects in Nagaland; Agumbe Nring, Tourist Officer, spoke on the role of travel agents and tour operators while Vimeto Vakha, President, Nagaland Tourism Association, spoke on the basics of Tour Guiding and Abigail Solo, Tourist Officer, gave an overview of hospitality.
The training concluded with Veteu Koza, Asst. Director’s remark who highlighted the registration process, the schemes and career aspects of Homestays, Tourism Operators and Tourism Agents.
