Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, NCS, took charge as the 34th Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang on Friday at the DC’s office. She is the first woman to be appointed for the role in the district.

Speaking to Nagaland Tribune, Lithrongla stated, “Transfers and change in position were and will always be a part of the job”. She said that coming to Tuensang as an administrator again is rather a homecoming for her compared to when she had to make the transition from being an administrator to becoming Director of DUDA.

DC Lithrongla made history in 2009 when she was transferred to Thonknyu, Tuensang as SDO Civil. She was the first lady officer in charge to withhold the charge in the H.Q.

She thanked God for giving her the opportunity to serve as the first lady DC of Tuensang district. She stated that gender does not really matter in administration. What actually matters is the form of dedication and effort that one puts in for the benefit of the public.

Lithrongla mentioned that her vision as the DC is to concentrate more on the health and education sector. She opined that more concentration on the primary level in school education with well-trained teachers will bring in some good results in the mere future.
