Tripura’s Power Minister, Ratan Lal Nath hosted Nagaland’s Advisor for New and Renewable Energy, Er Picto Shohe, at his chamber in the State Secretariat on June 23, for talks aimed at deepening ties between the two northeastern states.

Nath said the meeting offered a valuable platform to exchange ideas on improving collaboration between states, swapping governance lessons, and identifying fresh paths toward sustainable growth.

Renewable energy expansion and welfare-driven initiatives dominated the conversation, with both leaders examining how closer coordination among Northeast states and fresh thinking in the energy space could speed up development across the region.

Nath observed that such interactions strengthen bonds among Northeastern states and open doors for shared growth. He added that joint efforts on renewable energy, in particular, can go a long way in securing long-term sustainability and raising living standards for people in the region.

He also pointed out that frequent dialogue between state governments allows for the exchange of practical experience and effective strategies, which in turn builds stronger regional ties and speeds up overall progress.

Several other officials and dignitaries were present at the meeting, promoting a collective push toward a cleaner, more self-sufficient, and prosperous Northeast.
