Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Tseminyu, Japheth Woch (NCS), has informed electors of the 12-Tseminyu (ST) Assembly Constituency about a series of measures adopted to facilitate voters during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026.

Under the measures, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit the homes of electors who have been issued notices for being unmapped or having logical discrepancies. The BLOs will collect the required documents and upload them on ECINet for consideration by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs).

Such electors will not be required to appear before the ERO office for a hearing. In exceptional cases where a hearing is considered necessary, it will be conducted online. The administration further stated that if an elector is elderly, sick or working outside Tseminyu, any adult family member may attend the hearing on their behalf with an authorisation letter.

A Special Help Desk has also been established at the office of the DC and DEO, Room No. 1, Election Branch, Ground Floor, to assist labourers, poor persons, homeless people and others requiring support during the SIR process.

The administration stated that after completion of the SIR in Tseminyu district, a special drive would be undertaken for enrolment of left-out electors and young and first-time voters under the process of continuous updation.

It also clarified that the Declaration Form (Annex-D) attached to Form 6 would be used only during the SIR phase. After completion of SIR, applications during the normal period will be processed using the prescribed forms under the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.

For queries and assistance, electors may contact the DEO Control Room, Tseminyu, at 9863213168 or 8794241985.

The administration clarified that such persons need not ordinarily appear personally before the ERO or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) for a hearing. Where a hearing is considered necessary in exceptional circumstances, it would preferably be conducted online. An adult family member may also be authorised by the elector to attend the hearing on their behalf, wherever required.

Help Desks and Special Facilitation Camps would also be established at suitable locations to assist vulnerable sections and other eligible citizens requiring support, including persons living in night shelters, labourers, poor persons and homeless people.

The administration further stated that eligible persons whose names have been left out during the SIR or thereafter, including young and first-time voters, may approach the concerned ERO/AERO for inclusion in the Electoral Roll through the process of continuous updating, in accordance with applicable rules and procedures.

A special enrolment drive would also be undertaken by EROs, AEROs and BLOs in Mon district to identify and enrol eligible left-out electors, including first-time voters, while extending assistance in filing the requisite forms.

Konyak appealed to all eligible citizens to cooperate with BLOs and other election officials and provide the required information and documents wherever called for, stating that public cooperation was essential to maintaining an accurate, inclusive and up-to-date Electoral Roll.

The District Election Officer has directed all election officials to ensure that no eligible elector is left out merely for want of information or assistance, while adhering to the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, Registration of Electors Rules and directions of the ECI.
