As part of his visit to the state, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum & Nature Gas Hardeep Singh Puri made a stop at the Eastern Nagaland district of Tuensang on 4th November 2023 where he interacted with the beneficiary of Ujjwala Yojana of the District, DIPR said.

Speaking at the session, the Union Minister informed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, development of North East in general and Nagaland in particular is witness by many people and expressed his happiness to see many beneficiaries under Ujjwala Yojana at Tuensang.

Puri stated that during the pandemic period, the present Government at the Centre had given many schemes to the people to raise the standard of livelihood and to befit the people economically, especially women in India.

The Union Minister also assured to take up project for shopping mall and parking in Tuensang Town.

DIPR informed that Puri was accompanied by Nagaland Minister, Housing & Mechanical Engineering, Bashangmongba Chang, Advisor Youth Resource & Sports, Keoshu Yimchunger, MLA Imtichuba, MLA Benei M Lamthiu and State BJP President, Benjamin Yepthomi and host of dignitaries.

The program was chaired by DC Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa and welcome address was delivered by Minister Housing & Mechanical Engineering, Bashangmongba Chang. DUDA gave a PowerPoint presentation on DAY-NULM and IOC Ltd on Ujjwala Yojana.
