The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has announced the withdrawal of its agitation following developments aimed at addressing the longstanding healthcare concerns of the Longkhim-Chare area.

In a statement, the USSC appreciated the Department of Health and Family Welfare for its commitment to addressing the healthcare needs and demands of the people in the region.

The Conference credited the decisive leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for bringing the long-pending medical concerns of the area to the forefront, saying the positive developments had prompted it to officially call off its agitation.

The USSC expressed gratitude to Health and Family Welfare Minister P. Paiwang Konyak, Advisor and MLA of 52 A/C Longkhim-Chare, Sethrongkyu H Sangtam, the Principal Director and Commissioner Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Deputy Commissioner Tuensang and the Chief Medical Officer of Tuensang for their efforts towards resolving the issue.

It also acknowledged the support extended by the United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP), AST, CASU, LDSU and other allied stakeholders and public organisations that supported the Conference in raising the healthcare concerns of the region.

The USSC further welcomed the incoming Senior Medical Officer and Medical Officers assigned to the area, expressing confidence that their presence would strengthen healthcare services and benefit the local community.

The Conference said it looked forward to the dedicated service of the newly assigned medical personnel.
