The Uzara Van Dhan Vikas Kendra under Pradhan Mantri Vandhan Yojana (PMVDY) scheme was launched on November 23 at Phusachodu village in Phek District.
It was launched by Kudecho Khamo, Advisor CAWD & Taxes in the presence of Advisor S.Keoshu Yimchunger, Youth Resurces & Sports, Obed Quinker, Chairman, Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) and Sentiwapang Aier, NBHM team leader .
The Van Dhan scheme was launched by Govt of India in 2016 to help tribal communities in India who depend on forest produce for their livelihood. The Van Dhan Vikas Kendra (VDVk) Level Advocacy programme marked the launching of the scheme at Phusachodu.
Speaking at the occasion, Khamo thanked the NBHM team for connecting Van Dhan scheme to Phusachodu village, and expressed optimism that the scheme will go a long way in bringing sustanable livelihood. Keoshu Yimchunger and Obed Quinker also spoke at the launching programme.

Earlier, chairing the launching programme, NBHM Deputy team leader Er.Khuvoyi Vese informed that Van Dhan scheme will support machineries and tools for livelihood activities in beekeeping and other valued added related products. It would also extend technical support and marketing network, he said.
This PMVDY scheme is funded by TRIFED, Ministry of Tribal Affairs and organised by NBHM.
