Valedictory function of NCS (P) 2023 Batch held at ATI Kohima

Kohima: Thsanglao exhorts new officers to be resilient and calm in all public dealings, always be prepared to face any challenges

The Valedictory function of Nagaland Civil Service (P) Batch of 2023 was held at Vision Nagaland Hall, (ATI) Kohima, on Thursday, with Deputy Secretary, Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department, K Mhathung Thsanglao, NCS, as the Special Guest.

According to DIPR, the Deputy Secretary, in his address, congratulated all the officers, resource persons and staff for successfully endeavouring the yearlong training and also congratulated all the candidates. He expressed his confidence in the new recruits, encouraged them to take charge of administrative office and to face any challenges ahead positively.

Thsanglao stated that as an administrator one should be resilient and calm in all public dealings, must always be prepared to face any challenges, should be approachable, must work with integrity and dignity, work smarter, read books and journals to stay updated, and foremost of all read the Bible as the living word of God will always guide them. He expressed his best wishes as they set out to their new posting to serve our people.

The Valedictory speech on behalf of the batch was delivered by KM Nengpichong Singsit and Takatemjem Pongener who stated that they were fortunate to have gained hands on training and experience while dispensing their duties during the last elections and Republic Day programme. They expressed their gratitude to the deputy commissioners, administrative officers, Assam Rifles Officers, police officers, and all department officers, village elders/ leaders who guided them during their probation period. They thanked the ATI and the Government of Nagaland for enabling them to gain more knowledge through the Bharat Dharshan program and also acknowledged all the department and officers from Hyderabad, Bhopal and Calcutta for their hospitality and guidance.

Additional Director of ATI & Course Director, Bendanglila, NCS, commented that the NCS (P) 2023 Batch was very special and likened them to a first born child to her and all the officers. She hoped that they will execute their duties judiciously and fairly. She thanked all the DCs and persons behind the scenes who gave their service during the yearlong training, and also wished the candidates the best at their new postings and endeavours.

The programme was chaired by Deputy Secretary, P&AR Asalie NCS. A brief report on the yearlong training was presented by Asst. Director, ATI & Course Coordinator, A. Alem W. Longchar. A short speech was presented by Jt. Secretary & MD. NSRLM, Imtimenla and finally a Vote of Thanks from the Chairman.
