Village development and progress depends on GBs: Advisor Sukhalu in Zunheboto

Zunheboto: Advisor urges everyone to unite and do away with land compensation issues for development

Zunheboto Area GB Association (Zunheboto Tokujo Kukami) held its 28th Baghi Hoho under the theme ‘Fostering Peace and Upliftment of Society’ with Advisor for Food & Civil Supply, Legal Metrology, K. Tokugha Sukhalu, IAS (Rtd), as Special Guest on 4th November 2023 at Sumi Kukami Hoho Ki, Zunheboto.

According to DIPR, the Sukhalu, in his address, advised the village GBs to always be fair and just to everyone during their leadership as one reaps what one sows and encouraged the GBs to always try to do good deeds during their time. He further added that the GB’s have big responsibilities as the village development and progress depends on whether they are active and wise or not.

The advisor lamented on the lack of Sumi officers and asked if it was the weakness on the part of the parents or students and that we as parents should retrospect and try to do everything for the welfare of the student’s or their children’s.

Sukhalu added that though he and the government have many plans on the pipeline the claim of land compensation issue is blocking the development and that until and unless everyone comes together and do away with land compensation issues, development will be very hard to achieve.

He thanked the outgoing executive members of the associations for their service rendered to the association and wishes the best of luck to the newly inducted members.

Earlier, the program was chaired by GB Kughavi Yeptho, invocation prayer was invoked by Aketo Yeptho, Youth Leader, Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church, welcome address by GB Hetoho S Zhimomi Chairman, report was readout by Kihoto Shohe, Secretary and benediction by Pastor Mughalu Swu, Chairman, Church Leader Fellowship.
