Water Resource Department honours retiring officers

Kohima: Outgoing Chief Engineer thanks officers, staff for all help and cooperation given during his tenure as Head of Department.

The Department of Water Resources has bid farewell to its outgoing Chief Engineer, Er. Razouvolie Kelio and Superintendent Engineer, Er. Chubasahi Chang at the Chief Engineer’s office, Kohima Conference Hall on Thursday, DIPR said.

Speaking at the program MLA and Advisor for Water Resource, Tongpang Ozukum, also expressed his appreciation for their dedicated services and remarkable contributions of Er. Kelio and Er. Chang towards the department. Their efficiency, hard work, competency, resourcefulness, passion and unrelenting commitment and expertise have made a lasting impression in the Department and the legacy they leave behind will continue to inspire us all, the Advisor said.

Expressing his deepest appreciation to the outgoing Chief Engineer, the Incoming Chief Engineer of the Department, Er. K Hutoi Ayemi commended Er. Kelio’s remarkable contributions to the Department. He also said the outgoing CE has left an indelible mark with his dedication, vision, and tireless efforts.

Er. Ayemi also highlighted that the outgoing Chief Engineer’s tenure has been an invaluable role through his leadership and strategic planning and efficient workforce, ensuring that the department is equipped to tackle the challenges. His unwavering commitment to initiatives such as Ground Water schemes, and expertise in this critical area has been instrument and a pillar of strength and wisdom for the department, he added.

Further, the incoming CE also expressed gratitude to the retiring Superintendent Engineer for his illustrious career of excellence, dedication, innovation and ground breaking idea of the multipurpose irrigation project, which ingeniously incorporated a power generation component. This visionary concept not only revolutionized the approach to water resources management but also laid the foundation for sustainable development and economic growth in the state, he said.

Hutoi, also highlighted the exemplary leadership during Er. Chang’s postings in the district and divisions, where he spearheaded and completed numerous surface minor irrigation projects, providing a lifeline to countless communities and farmers.

Outgoing Chief Engineer Er. Razouvolie Kelio congratulated the incoming Chief Engineer Er. K Hutoi Ayemi and thanked the officers and staff for all the help and cooperation given during his tenure as Head of Department.

Outgoing Superintendent Engineer, Chubasashi Chang also encouraged the young and energetic officers and staff to continue to serve the department with the same dedication and zeal and thanked the department for the cooperation during his service.
