In pursuance to the Cabinet decision dated 9th October 2024 and Video Conference with the Commissioner Nagaland on 19th November 2024 and in preparation for the upcoming 25th Hornbill Festival, 2nd Phase of mass social work is to be conducted across Wokha District along with the rest of the districts of Nagaland on 22nd November 2024.
Therefore, all the individuals, public & private institutions are hereby directed to organize and participate in the social work, in your respective institutions/jurisdiction from 7:00 am onwards.
The following instructions/guidelines are to be followed;
- All building materials stacked on the road sides should be immediately removed.
- Latrines, pig stys discharging their waste on the road side should be removed/demolished.
- The shops in the town should have proper signboards and may have proper lighting at night. The damage/defaced signages should be redone. Repainting of shops and business establishment is encouraged.
- The villages on the highways (both National and State) should clear the vegetation on the road stretch in their respective jurisdiction.
- The Urban Development Department shall in coordination with Wokha Town Council and Bhandari Town Council take steps to:
- Ensure proper sanitation along the roads.
- Ensure the meat shops are hygienic and ensure prevention of contamination by houseflies, insects, etc.
- Initiate a special drive to clean the towns plastic waste. This drive may not be restricted during the Social Work days. This may be taken up on a mission mode to ensure that Wokha District attains plastic-free status by 30th November 2024.
- All departments are to ensure the cleanliness in their respective government building/properties by carrying out social work.
- The respective Area Administrative Officer would monitor the work in their respective areas and submit a report after completion of the Social Work.
