Wokha Town Council issues Order against syndicate system

Wokha: Anyone doing businesses without valid required permit will lead to confiscation of goods/shops and ₹10, 000 fine

The ADC & Executive Officer, Wokha Town Council, Renbomo Ezung, has issued an order directing all citizens, traders, wholesalers, retailers’ business establishments doing businesses within Wokha Town Council jurisdiction to refrain from practicing syndicate system which will hamper the smooth flow of business transaction at Wokha Town.

Emphasising that there should be free, fair and open market competition amongst the business establishments without any restriction on exchange of goods and services thereby protecting the consumers and sellers and further promote economic growth with transparency and accountability, the ADC & Executive Officer stated that anyone found indulging in such illegal market activity and violating the order would lead to immediate cancellation of trade permit license along with a fine of ₹10,000.

Further, all the ADC & Executive Officer has also directed all transporters carrying public goods and traders/shopkeepers/hotels/institutions running businesses within Wokha Town Council jurisdiction without valid Transit Pass permit and trade permit license to obtain permit from the WTC Office during office hours. If anyone is found doing businesses without the valid required permit will lead to confiscation of the goods/shops along with a penalty of ₹10, 000, the order stated.

The ADC & Executive Officer has also state that any person found guilty of violating the order will be liable for legal action under relevant provision of law.
