Likya Colony in Wokha celebrated its 75th Jubilee on Wednesday at Likya Community Hall under the theme “Brighten your Colony”. Rev Nyanchumo Lotha, Executive Secretary, Lotha Baptist Churches’ Association (LBCA), unveiled and blessed the Jubilee monolith in commemoration of the 75 years of the colony.
Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe, MLA, 38 Wokha, who graced the occasion as the Chief Host said in his speech that remembering the works of the ancestors and rectifying those works should be one of the objectives of the jubilee. Reminding the gathering that the occasion is an opportunity to celebrate love, forgiveness, togetherness and sharing happiness, he hoped that forgiveness and unity will prevail in the society.
Humtsoe further stressed on the importance of letting go of grudges, being loving neighbours and striving for a society reminiscent of divine virtues.
Tsidi Zeliang, SDO Civil, Wokha, extended his Jubilee greetings and stated that this jubilee is the time to appreciate and acknowledge the pioneers of Likya Colony whose dreams and visions has brought this moment today. He encouraged the residents to show gratitude and thanked the leaders for the efforts made by them since its formation and encouraged the colony to continue doing their good works and look way forward for more achievements in the days to come.

Wokha Village Council Chairman, Vandan Erui, extended his warm greetings to Likya Colony for successfully celebrating its 75th Platinum Jubilee. On behalf of Wokha Village and its council, he appealed to the Colony to take this opportunity to forgive each other and maintain a healthy relationship with families and neighbours, fostering relationships with Wokha Village.
The jubilee souvenir titled Likya Colony 75 years History was released during the service. Later, Rev Abemo Jungio, Pastor, Wokha Town Baptist Church (WTBC) offered the jubilee blessing prayer.
The program was chaired by Er Limhathung Lotha, welcome address was delivered by N Thungjamo Lotha, Deacon, while exhortation was delivered by Retd. Director H&FW, Dr L M Murry. Vote of thanks was delivered by Retd. Director H&FW, Dr N M Kithan and benediction was delivered by M Orenboni Kikon.
