The District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of August was held on Wednesday at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Zunheboto, under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman, DPDB & Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, IAS.

The Deputy Commissioner welcomed the new member to the Board before reviewing the minutes and action taken report of the previous DPDB meeting.

During the meeting, the Board reviewed several development proposals that had already been approved and forwarded to the Government. These included the Green Initiatives proposal, the establishment of a Fire and Emergency Services Station at Akuluto, the setting up of a Public Health Engineering (PHE) office at Satakha, and the construction of the District Welfare Office at Zunheboto.

The Board also approved the organisation of the 13th Intra-Departmental Tournament, which will be held from September 17 to 19, 2026, featuring six sporting events aimed at promoting healthy competition among government departments.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Shaying Sheu, NCS presented the departmental work distribution and responsibilities for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations.

A presentation on the VB G-RAM -G Scheme was delivered by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), highlighting the objectives, implementation strategy, and expected benefits of the programme in strengthening rural development and improving grassroots governance.

The meeting concluded with a call for continued coordination among all departments to ensure the timely implementation of approved developmental initiatives and the successful organisation of upcoming district events.
