The second day of the 17th Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2024 delivered thrilling matches at the Multi-Sports Complex, Mokokchung, as top teams battled for supremacy. United Changki secured two consecutive victories. In their first match, they defeated Evergreen Club Ungma 25-19 and 25-21, followed by a dominant performance against Michazou Mima Kohima, winning 25-16 and 25-14. These victories have placed United Changki as one of the top contenders for the championship.
In another exciting contest, Ozümi overcame Young Defender’s Club Tuensang in straight sets, 25-16 and 25-17, marking their second win in Pool A. Meanwhile, Yajang United bounced back with their second win, defeating Volleyball Team Unger 25-22, 18-25, and 15-10 in a hard-fought match. Volleyball Team Unger, however, is yet to taste victory, having lost all three of their Pool B matches.
MH 10 Kohima continued their winning streak in Pool D, defeating Orija Club Khensa 25-19 and 25-17. Doyang Spikers, Wokha, had a tough fight against Archippus Club, Waromong, but eventually secured the win with scores of 25-22, 22-25, and 15-7.
Eastern Tornado Tuensang claimed their second win by beating Tribal’s Club 25-20 and 25-18, while Evergreen Club Ungma finally registered their first win of the tournament after two previous losses, defeating Tongden Club Chungtia 25-18, 25-17.

Longsa Sporting Club, Mokokchung beat Eastern Tornado, Tuensang (22-25, 26-24, 15-13)

Tournament Kickoff
The 17th edition of the Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2024 officially kicked off on 17th September at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, Mokokchung. Organized by the Mokokchung District Volleyball Association (MDVA), the tournament features 19 teams from across Nagaland, including representatives from Tuensang, Kohima, Dimapur, Wokha, and Zunheboto.
Temsüchuba Jamir, SDO (C) Mokokchung, inaugurated the event, praising the legacy of Imchaba and emphasizing the role of sports in fostering unity. The tournament is scheduled to conclude on 20th September, with the champions set to receive Rs 1,00,000, among other prizes.
