The monthly meeting of the District Planning & Development Board (DP&DB), Dimapur, was held on July 27 at the DC’s Conference Hall, Dimapur. The meeting was attended by Advisor for Industries & Commerce & Chairperson, DPDB Dimapur, Hekani Jakhalu, and was chaired by Dr. Diana Patton, ADC, Dimapur.
The meeting began with a PowerPoint presentation on the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Nagaland, delivered by Dr. Nyanthung Kikon, State Nodal Officer, ABDM, Department of Health & Family Welfare. During the presentation, Dr. Kikon highlighted the objectives and implementation of the mission and stated that Dimapur is a model district under the programme.
The Board approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) 2026–27.
The proposal for registration of the Covenant Foundation under the Societies Registration Act was also approved.

Under the education sector, the Board approved the change of nomenclature of ITIKI Montessori School to ITIKI School, Darogapathar, Dimapur. It also approved the upgradation of Grace Fountain School, Duncan Bosti, from Class V to Class VIII, and granted Grant-in-Aid to Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Milan Mandir. While the proposal for change of ownership of Zakiesato Memorial Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, was deferred for further consideration.
Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Hekani Jakhalu thanked all members for their participation and urged them to work with greater dedication. She stressed the importance of attending DPDB meetings regularly and said that if members were unable to attend, they should ensure that a representative attended on their behalf.
