2 houses gutted in Eralibill fire; No casualties reported

A fire broke out on July 4 morning at Lane 2 (G) in Eralibill village, destroying two Assam-type houses and leaving two families homeless. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

According to officials from the Fire and Emergency Services, the fire was triggered by a short circuit. The control room received the alert at 9:29 a.m, following which two fire tenders from the Central Fire Station were rushed to the spot. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze within 40 minutes, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.

The fire completely destroyed both houses along with personal belongings and important documents. The estimated loss has been pegged at around ₹15 lakh.
