29th Chakhesang Wrestling and 3rd under 16 Years Championship held

The 29th Chakhesang Wrestling and 3rd under 16 Years Championship  was held at Local Ground, Chozuba on February 9, informed DIPR. Deputy Chief Minister, Nagaland Y. Patton graced the event as the Special Guest

During the event, Y. Patton requested the Angami and Chakhesang wrestling association to train other communities of Nagaland where they can participate and host wrestling tournament. Wrestling fosters unity along with competition, said Patton expressing delight and honour of being invited to witness the wrestling. The Deputy Chief Minister who holds the Home portfolio also assured the gathering to upgrade the Police Outpost, Chozuba from Officer Incharge (OC) to SDPO as requested by MLA Kudecho Khamo to be inaugurated by him.

Kudecho Khamo Advisor, Civil Administration Works Division & Taxes graced the event as the Guest of Honour.  Khamo thanked the Almighty God for giving people a chance to get together for His glory. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to guests, good wishes and players. The Advisor also informed that the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio is promoting sports for the youths for their sustainability. He urged the gathering public to start family project for employment orientation for better life.

Pudusa Chizho, the first Chakhesang Wrestling champion (1968) unfurled the tournament flag followed by lighting of the wrestling torch by defending champion and administration of oath to wrestlers. Sportspersons, lovers of wrestling and well-wishers from different district of the state witnessed the one day wrestling meet, mentioned the DIPR.
