5th Late G. Rio Men’s U19 Tournament 2025: Niuland and Peren secure wins

In an exciting T20 fixture of the 5th Late G. Rio Memorial Men’s U19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2025, Niuland emerged victorious with a 44-run win over Chümoukedima at the Sovima Cricket Ground, Chümoukedima. Chümoukedima’s bowlers shared the wickets, with Aloto Sumi, Akesho, and Viriekholie Dzeyie all picking up 2 wickets each, applying pressure at regular intervals and keeping the total in check.

2nd Innings – Chümoukedima: 90/10 in 19.5 Overs

Chasing 135 for victory, Chümoukedima’s batting lineup struggled to build partnerships and were eventually bowled out for 90 runs in 19.5 overs. Aloto Sumi (22 off 19) and Akesho (21 off 33) offered some resistance, but the team fell short of the target.

Niuland’s bowling attack was sharp and disciplined, with Abhay Tripathi delivering an excellent spell of 3 wickets for 11 runs in just 2 overs, derailing Chümoukedima’s chase early on.

Peren secured a convincing 5-wicket win over Mokokchung in a fast-paced encounter at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium during the 5th Late G. Rio Memorial Men’s U19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2025. The match was highlighted by a remarkable bowling display from Amrit Tiga, who played a pivotal role in Peren’s victory.

1st Innings – Mokokchung: 65/10 in 15.4 Overs

Mokokchung, opting to bat first, struggled to gain momentum and were bowled out for just 65 runs in 15.4 overs. Livoto top-scored with a quick 21 off 14 balls, but lacked support from the rest of the batting order.
