Wokha recorded a solid 5-wicket victory over Tseminyu in a low-scoring clash during the 5th Late G. Rio Memorial Men’s U19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2025, held at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chümoukedima. The win was anchored by a disciplined bowling effort and a composed chase, informed a press release by the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA).
1st Innings – Tseminyu: 77/10 in 31.5 Overs
Opting to bat first, Tseminyu struggled to find momentum against Wokha’s sharp bowling attack and were bowled out for 77 runs in 31.5 overs. Ayub and Sonyelo Kent were the top scorers with 16 and 15 runs respectively, but no other batter could build a meaningful partnership.
The standout performer for Wokha was Krishna Kumar, who bowled a brilliant spell of 4 wickets for just 17 runs in his full quota of 10 overs, maintaining control and applying pressure throughout the innings.
2nd Innings – Wokha: 79/5 in 22.2 Overs
Chasing a modest target, Wokha lost five wickets but never looked in serious trouble, reaching the total in 22.2 overs. The chase was stabilized by Liren M Jungio, who remained unbeaten on 17 off 22 balls, and Shahil Uddin Laskar, who contributed a steady 17 off 44 balls.
Tseminyu’s Sokelo Semp bowled with heart, finishing with 3/22 in 6 overs, but the target was too small to defend.
