5th Late G Rio Men’s U19 Tournament: Dimapur secures 9-wicket win over Peren, Niuland beats Tseminyu by 7 wickets

Dimapur secured a convincing 9-wicket win over Peren in the 5th Late G Rio Men’s U19 Tournament 2025 while Niuland beat Tseminyu by 7 wickets in the ongoing 5th Late G Rio Men’s U19 Tournament 2025 on 7th April.

DIMAPUR VS PEREN

Peren struggled to find momentum against Dimapur’s sharp bowling attack at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Dimapur. The batting lineup collapsed under pressure, managing only 33 runs in 14.5 overs. Anurag Gupta was the highest scorer with 9 runs off 10 balls. The rest of the batting order failed to reach double digits.

Chasing a modest target of 34, Arnab led the batting with an unbeaten 14 off 21 balls, guiding Dimapur home in just 8.1 overs.

Dimapur’s Deepak Thakur was adjudged Player of the Match for taking 4 wickets for just 16 runs in a tightly controlled 7-over spell.

NIULAND VS TSEMINYU

In the other match played at Sovima Cricket Ground, Dimapur, Niuland produced a dominant performance in their opening fixture by winning by 7 wickets after restricting Tseminyu to 113/10 in 30.2 Overs.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Tseminyu showed early promise with a steady partnership between Rohit Uddin and Sonyelo Kent. Rohit remained unbeaten with a well- fought 43 off 63 balls, while Kent contributed 30 from 65. However, the rest of the batting lineup collapsed under immense pressure from Niuland’s bowling attack.

Sujit Kumar delivered a sensational spell, taking 7 wickets for just 11 runs in 6 overs He was ably supported by Jeetender, who chipped in with 2 wickets.

Chasing 114 for victory, Niuland batted with composure and control. Jeetender played a key role with the bat, scoring a fluent 37 off 33 balls to anchor the chase. Despite losing three wickets, the batting unit never looked under pressure, reaching the target comfortably in 19.3 overs.

Sujit Kumar was named Player of the Match for his match-winning 7-wicket haul that paved the way for Niuland’s comfortable win.
