The Day two of the 5^th Mokokchung Inter-ward Football Tournament 2024 (MIFT) at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on March 13 saw Tongdentsuyong, Sungkomen and Artang secure victories over Kumlong, Sangtemla and Alempang respectively.

Tongdentsuyong started their campaign in the 5^th Mokokchung Inter-ward Football Tournament by defeating Kumlong 2-0. Goals from Noksang (Jersey no. 9) in the 22^nd minute and Wabongtemjem (Jersey no. 21) in the 25^th minute of the first half sealed the win for Tongdentsuyong, showcasing their dominance early on.

In the second match of the day, Sungkomen managed to edge past the defending champions Sangtemla with a 2-1 victory. Tarepnungsang (Jersey no.7) scored Sungkomen’s first goal in the 21^st minute. Despite an equalizer from R Achi (Jersey no.9) for Sangtemla in the 22nd minute, Sungkomen held their ground, securing the win with a decisive goal from Lipoksunep (Jersey no.9) in the 24^th minute.

Meanwhile, in the third match of the day, Artang secured a narrow 1-0 win over Alempang, with Tongpangnokdang (Jersey no.10) finding the back of the net in the 29^th minute securing Artang’s second win in the tournament and also topping Pool A with 6 points.

Day three of the 5^th MIFT will witness matches between Marepkong and Yimyu at 12:00 PM, followed by Penli vs Arkong, and Tongdentsuyong vs Mongsenbai.
