The much-anticipated 5th Winter Night Carnival, organized by the Adventure and Motorsports Association Mokokchung (AMAM), began on December 12 at the MTBA Church Basement. Held under the aegis of the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), the carnival spans from Main Police Point to Rotary Junction and will be open daily from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The event, filled with festive cheer, is scheduled to conclude on December 14.
Lanuakum, Deputy Chairman of MMC, graced the occasion as the Inaugural Patron.
In his inaugural speech, Lanuakum expressed his gratitude to AMAM for organizing the Winter Night Carnival annually. “From tonight, we will be witnessing the festive atmosphere in our town, and it is through AMAM’s efforts that this carnival continues to provide a platform for upcoming entrepreneurs and opportunities for our citizens,” he said.
He also appealed to the citizens to uphold cleanliness and civic sense during the festivities. “MMC would like to remind everyone to follow the advisories and orders of the town, maintain cleanliness, and be responsible citizens. As we celebrate this carnival, let us also prepare ourselves mindfully to receive our Saviour Jesus Christ this Christmas. I wish everyone a cheerful and positive carnival,” he added.
A member of AMAM highlighted the main objective of the carnival: “This event aims to bring the citizens of Mokokchung together, activate the festive mood, and promote opportunities for local entrepreneurs during this season.”
