The 74th Republic Day was celebrated in all districts of Nagaland today along with the rest of the India.
At capital Kohima, Governor Jagdish Mukhi unfurled the National Flag and took Rashtriya Salute from the thirteen parade contingents and delivered the Republic Day speech.
Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, accompanied by Kaisa Rio, were also present on the occasion.
Chümoukedima
Minister of Planning & Coordination, Parliamentary Affairs and Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu unfurled the National flag and inspected the parade contingents at Chümoukedima Town Public Ground.
The parade commander of the March Past contingents was ACP Chümoukedima, Ninoto Zhimomi, and the 2nd Parade Commander was ABI, Aren Jamir NAPTC.
The participants of the parade contingents were 1st NAP; 15th NAP Mahila Battalion; Tetso College; Nagaland Police Central School; Government Higher Sec School, Chumu; St. Joseph University; Ex-Servicemen; Pipe Band, Team of Assam Rifle Training centre.

Dimapur
Minister for PHED, Jacob Zhimomi unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya salute at the 74th Republic Day celebration on Thursday.
The eight Parade contingents were Police Commissioner, Dimapur, 15th NAP (IR) Mahila Bn, Home Guard, Ex-Servicemen, NCC Dimapur, Government College, Govt High School, Burma Camp, Govt High School, Lingrijan, 43 AR Band Platoon.
The contingents were led by Parade Commander, Imkongsangba Jamir, NPS, (Asst Commissioner of Police East Dimapur) And Parade 2 I/c, Neichuzo Rio (ABI Police Commissionerate, Dimapur) with Parade BHM, Havildar Khekato Sema (Police Commissionerate, Dimapur).
Kiphire
MLA, Yitachu unfurled the National Flag and took the salute from the six parade contingents.
Cultural presentations were performed by Kisetong village cultural troop and Nilejo cultural troupe of Sitimi Village while a special song was performed by Khumtsase Sangtam.
Agri & Allied Departments, KVK, Election, Veterinary and Medical Department put up exhibition stalls on the occasion. Volleyball exhibition matches were also played between Young Defender Club and Elite Frontier Club and Amity Club and Ynite Sporting Club.
Commemorating the day, ADS Supply department, MS and DWO visited District Hospital and District Jail while Shalom Children House was visited by DPO (LRD) and DPRO Kiphire.
Longleng
Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs, unfurled the national flag and took the Salute and inspected the six parade contingents comprising DEF Longleng, 12th NAP (IR) Chingtok, Village Guards of Pongo, Bauthung Government Higher Secondary School, Yingli College, and Pipe Band 12 NAP (IR) Chingtok.
Yanthan also inaugurated exhibition stalls at the public ground, Longleng.
The programme was attended by Government officials, NGOs, Civil Societies, and the general public of Longleng.

Mokokchung
At Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, Pukhayi Sumi, Advisor, Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS), Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection (LM&CP) unfurled the National flag and took the Republic Day salute.
The nine parade contingents were DEF Mokokchung, 2nd NAP, 13 NAP (IR), NHG, Pensioner (Defense Personnel), NCC MGHSS, NCC QMHSS, Bharat Scout and Guide and Band Platoon 2nd NAP, Alichen. Mayangniken Assistant Commandment, 2nd NAP was the Parade Commander and ABI Imlionen 2nd NAP was the 2nd in Command.
On the occasion, the entertainment extravaganza included a presentation of cultural dances by Cultural Club, Khensa Village and Naga Wadir Club, Ungma. A game of Tug-of-war between Watsu Mungdang and Government Lady Officers was held. Later, Advisor Pukhayi Sumi inaugurated the Exhibition Stalls being set up by different departments.

Mon
The 74th Republic Day was observed in Mon district with Minister of Health & Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom unfurling the National Flag and Inspection of Parade.
The March Past Contingents included the 6th NAP, DEF Mon, Village Guards, 6th NAP Pipe Band, Ex-servicemen, Wangkhao Government College, GHSS Mon Town ‘A’ and GHSS Mon Town ‘D’. The Parade Commander was Asst. Commandant 6th NAP, K. Hekato Sumi.
The event also witnessed a song by Aman N Konyak and cultural dance by Mon Vale College Cultural Troupe.
Later, in the evening, the event concluded with prize distribution and display of band followed by ‘Beating of Retreat Ceremony’ by 6th NAP Pipe Band.
Niuland
V Kashiho Sangtam, Minister, Geology & Mining, Soil & Water Conservation unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya salute from the 8th NAP and five other contingents under the command of ACP James.
JNV Nihokhu and Kuhoxu village children ministry performed a special presentation while folk song and folk dance were presented by education colony (women) Niuland Town and P Vizheto village respectively.
Peren
The Minister of Housing & Mechanical, Tongpang Ozukum unfurled the National Flag, took Rashtriya Salute from the parade contingents at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Peren.
The Parade Contingents that took part in the March Past were DEF Peren, 9th NAP (IR) Bn Saijang, Govt Higher Sec School Peren and Peren Government College. The Parade Commander was Lunso, SDPO Jalukie while parade 2 I/C was Abi Viloto S. Chishi, R.I RHQ.
On the occasion, four government employees were felicitated by Ozukum in recognition of their distinguished service.
In Phek district, Advisor for Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio unfurled the National Flag, took Rashtriya Salute and inspected the parade contingents.
Rio also inaugurated the exhibition stalls put up by agriculture and allied departments during the celebration.
DEF Phek led by SI Kuzhosa Epao, 5th NAP led by ABSI Toshi Meren, Home Guard led by SI Viboto H Sumi, NCC Contingent led by Awele Kapfo were parade contingents at the celebration programme, where the first and second commanders of the four parade contingents were Assistant Commandant Vedupe Lasuh NPS and ABSI Vizoto Zao respectively.
Presentation of folk dance and songs by Jericho II Youth and Jericho II Women Cultural Troupe were the highlights of the occasion.
All District Heads of the Offices, government officials, GBs, and the public of Phek town attended the program.
Shamator
In Shamator, Advisor, Prison, Printing, and Stationery, H Haiying unfurled the National Flag, inspected the contingents, and read out the Republic Day speech.
The parade commander was Tongpang, Assistant Commandant 3rd NAP Shamator and contingents from DEF Shamator, 14th IR, V G Shamator, GHSS Shamator, and St Xavier School Shamator took part in the march past.
A patriotic song was presented by St. Xavier School Shamator and taekwondo demonstration by Taekwondo Association Shamator. Cultural exhibition by Thopun Cultural Troupe Shamator followed by the inauguration of the stalls.
Tseminyu
At the Rengma Sports Association Ground, Tseminyu old Town, Minister of Agriculture & Cooperation, G. Kaito unfurled the national flag and inspected the parade contingents led by ABSI- Shoyelo Seb, B COY 4th NAP.
‘C’ COY 10th (IR) BN, NCC Baptist Hr Secondary School Tseminyu, NCC DBS Tseminyu, GHSS Tseminyu, and GHS New Town Tseminyu were the contingents while the national anthem was rendered by Christian School Tseminyu students.
The highlights of the programme were a folk dance by Kandinu cultural troupe and a Folk song by GBs Union Tseminyu. G. Kaito also inaugurated exhibition stalls set up by various departments.
Tuensang
Yangseo Member and Deputy Speaker NLA, unfurled the National Flag and Rashtriya salute was taken by the special guest while the parade review was done by Kanchan Kumar Kandpal Superintendent of Police, Tuensang.
A total of five parade contingents participated in the march past namely: DEF Tuensang, 3rd NAP, VG Tuensang Village, VG Chingmelen, ex-servicemen and Band platoon with the parade commander Manish Bhartiya SDPO Tuensang and Tyuyamki Yimkhiunger as second in command.
District Commendation Awards were awarded to Wongto Chingmak SDAO (Agri); Keneileü Suokhrie, PGT Zoology; Sentikhumla Ao, Assistant Nursing Superintendent; Thungtimongko Chang, Sr. HA RD; Moatoshi Chang, GT GHSS Tuensang; M. Batang Chang, Head Driver MS; B. Thumloi Phom, Havildar SP Tuensang; Tsalimong Sangtam, Driver DPO (ICDS) and Tonglichem Sangtam, DPO (Planning).
Changen Cultural Club and Sangli Cultural Troupe participated in the cultural event of the celebration.

Wokha
Minister for Rural Development & SIRD, Metsubo Jamir, in his Republic Day address at Wokha, paid homage to the countless heroes and martyrs whose sacrifices and sufferings led to the creation of this great Republic Nation.
We salute our pioneers, who made significant contributions and sacrifices in the realization of Statehood, having undergone turbulent times when the Naga movement was at its peak, he said.
Eight parade contingents DEF, 7th NAP, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Ex-Service Man, NCC (Man & Women cadet), and Bharat Scout & Guides took part in March past. Assistant Commandant 7th NAP Bhandari Akhieto Sema led the match past as the parade commander.
Jamir later inaugurated the stalls put up by various departments, NGOs, and self-help groups. A football exhibition match was also played between WDFA and Deputy Commissioner XI.
Folk songs were presented by the Wokha Town Lakhuti Women Cultural troupe and traditional rice pounding by the Longsa Women Cultural troupe.
Earlier in the morning, the feeding of jail inmates was carried out by DLSA, Mhondamo Memorial District Hospital by DCCI, Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital by SBI, and 40th Assam Rifles hospital by ANTA Wokha unit.
Zunheboto
The 74th Republic Day in the district was celebrated at the Local Ground with Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly unfurling the national flag and inspecting the eight parade contingents.
In his address, the NLA Speaker remembered the efforts and sacrifices of millions of freedom fighters whose blood and sweat gave us independence and created our Republic.
Special songs were presented by Kinitoli and Mughasheli and Natha Old Totimi. The special guest later inaugurated the exhibition stalls.
