The 9th North East India International Model United Nations (NEIMUN) Conference will be held at the Don Bosco Institute of Development and Learning in Dimapur from 18th-20th October 2024 under the theme ‘UNSC 2250: Youth, Peace, and Security’.
This year’s conference will continue to focus on significant regional challenges like drug trafficking, the small arms trade, poverty, and the climate crisis, informed Tiapong Tzudir, Under Secretary General for Media and Communications, NEIMUN 2024.
Started in 2013, the event has been empowering and inspiring thousands of youths to become change-makers in their communities by providing substantive training in leadership development, public speaking, as well as help delegates learn more about the United Nations and pressing social issues through the use of the UN4MUN procedure, developed by the United Nations to accurately simulate the actual proceedings of the UN. With a commitment to leave a lasting positive social impact, NEIMUN includes its ‘Speaker Series’, which will host eminent personalities, panel discussions, interactive workshops, global village and social events for networking and celebrate the diversity of the region.
The Conference is open to all students currently studying in their higher secondary, under graduate, post graduate or any young professional from across Northeast India and beyond.
