The National Legal Services Authority in association with the Mediation & Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Supreme Court of India has conceptualized the Special Mediation Drive- ‘Mediation for the Nation’ under the guidance of the Chief Justice of India and Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Executive Chairman, NALSA and Chairman, MCPC.
After successful completion of the ‘Mediation for the Nation 1.0’ held across the country last year in 2025, ‘Mediation for the Nation 2.0’ Campaign has been launched across the Nation. It is a 90 days intensive drive to settle pending cases in all the Taluk Courts, District Courts and High Courts of India through Mediation.
As per Mediation data in the state of Nagaland in connection with Mediation for the Nation 1.0,
Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) has amicably settled 90 matters and disputes out of total 397 cases referred by District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) and High Court Legal Services Committee (HCLSC).

To carry out the 2nd edition, the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) as per the direction of the National Legal Services Authority has informed all the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) in the State to conduct 90 days mediation drive to settle pending cases in all the DLSAs in view of the National Campaign which will run this March 2026.
The different category of cases which can be referred for mediation during this campaign are Matrimonial Disputes Cases, Accident Claims Cases, Domestic Violence Cases, Cheque Bounce Cases, Commercial Disputes Cases, Services Matter Cases, Criminal Compoundable Cases, Consumer Disputes Cases, Partition Cases, Eviction Cases, Land Acquisition Cases and Other Suitable Civil Cases.
In view of this 90 days National Campaign, ‘Mediation for the Nation’, all the advocates, litigants and general public are requested to take advantage of this said campaign and refer their cases (if it falls under the above mentioned category), for mediation.
