The monthly District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Meluri District was held at the DB’s Court, DC’s Office, Meluri on August 25. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, Meluri, Phuleshe K. Yepthomi, NCS.

The meeting reviewed the minutes of the previous DPDB meeting and discussed various developmental and administrative matters concerning the district.

One of the major agenda items was sanitation and waste management, particularly the proper management and segregation of single-use plastics and plastic bottles. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of adhering to the new government guidelines on sanitation management at the four categories. He stressed the need for proper segregation and disposal of single-use plastics and urged all departments to coordinate and work collectively towards maintaining cleanliness and effective waste management in the district.

The meeting also discussed the proposal for visits to Government Higher Secondary Schools in Meluri District by different departments. It was proposed that one department would visit the schools once a month to interact with students and share information about its activities, programmes and services. The initiative is aimed at creating greater awareness among students about various government departments and their roles in public service.

The Deputy Commissioner called upon all departments to strengthen inter-departmental coordination and work together towards the overall welfare and development of Meluri District. He emphasized that collective efforts and active participation from all departments are essential for achieving sustainable development and effective delivery of government programmes.

During the meeting, SDO, PWD (R&B), Khontsa Perry delivered a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the activities and achievements of the PWD (R&B) department.
