AICC Observer and Member of the Karnataka Legislative Council, Ivan D’Souza, along with Thomas, PCC Observer and Spokesperson of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, toured Kiphire and Noklak districts on February 20 and 21.
During his visit, Ivan D’Souza said that he came to Nagaland with clear directions from the All India Congress Committee under the “Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan” programme. This decision was taken at the Congress Working Committee meeting held in Ahmedabad. The main aim of the programme is to reach out to party workers at the grassroots level, listen to their opinions, and reorganize the district committees.
He informed that he visited both Noklak and Kiphire districts and met district office bearers, PCC members, working committee members, and booth-level workers. He interacted with them one-to-one to understand how the party can be reorganized and strengthened in the future.
Sharing suggestions, party workers said the party must be strengthened at all levels and proper resources should be provided. They also requested that senior leaders should visit block and district levels regularly to encourage workers. Suggestions were also given regarding the appointment of DCC Presidents. Many members expressed that those who are presently working sincerely should be re-appointed to continue their responsibilities.
Ivan D’Souza also met the NPCC President and the Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha and discussed plans for reorganizing the party in other districts. He said he will submit a detailed report to the AICC after collecting all necessary information from both districts.
He further stated that the Congress party stands for inclusive politics and works for the last person in society. He said true inclusive development means taking everyone together, without leaving out any community. He emphasized that the party’s ideology is based on unity, equality, and justice for all sections of society.
