The ECO Club of MGM College organised an Essay and Art Competition on the theme “Water Conservation: Every Drop Counts” on February 21 with the objective of instilling in young minds a deep sense of environmental stewardship and responsibility.

“Often referred to as the “Blue Planet,” Earth derives its identity from the abundance of water that sustains life. Yet, despite its vast presence, the availability of usable freshwater remains alarmingly scarce. While the demand for water continues to rise exponentially due to population growth, urbanisation, and industrial expansion, the accessible volume of clean water is critically limited. In this stark contrast lies the urgent need for judicious use, conservation, and sustainable management of water resources. Responsible water conservation is not merely an environmental concern but a vital step toward achieving sustainable development,” stated a press release issued by the college.
